Dan Cogan-Drew is Co-Founder and Chief Academic Officer at Newsela where he leads the delivery of learning insights that power improvements in student outcomes by Newsela's products and services. He began his education career in Teach for America and went on to teach in public and private schools, as well as in the US Navy. He holds degrees from Wesleyan University, Brown University, and Tufts University.

Aaron is an expert in data science and engineering, having developed data infrastructure at Chegg for 5 years prior to co-founding Schoolytics. Aaron’s experience in data ranges from developing machine learning models, to implementing business and organizational analytical capabilities, to deploying production software to serve hundreds of thousands of students. Aaron is passionate about using data to help organizations and individuals make more informed decisions, and using software to enable intelligent automation within systems.
