How to: Use Spanish Texts on Newsela

The Newsela Team
Jan 19, 2021

Content should be accessible for all learners, including English language learners (ELLs). That’s why on Newsela, you can find thousands of texts published in both English and Spanish at 5 reading levels, with Spanish Write Prompts and comprehension quizzes to support Spanish-speaking ELLs. Use Newsela’s search to filter articles specifically in both Spanish and English, or look for the “ES” Spanish icon in the top right hand corner of an article card to delineate that the article is also available in Spanish. We turn to our expert team of native Spanish speakers to edit and translate texts, so you can be confident in our translations and scaffolds. Check out a few Spanish sample articles on our Newsela Solutions page!
