Classroom materials that are best for your school, district, and community

Our content is carefully selected for K-12 classrooms from over 170 vetted sources.

With updated content settings, administrators can control the content available in their schools. And teachers can feel confident that every choice they make supports learning and meets specific guidelines from their school, district, or state.

How it works

Collections directly aligned to your scope and sequence

Custom Collections

We do the heavy lifting to bring your district’s priorities to life and make it easy for teachers to find the content they need. With our new entry-level alignment tier for Custom Collections, we’ll map Newsela’s engaging content to your district’s scope and sequence.

Content that adapts to changing instructional needs

State Add-On Collections

Newsela content never gets old. We constantly align content and curate lesson resources to address new state standards and changing instructional needs. Our State Add-On Collections help you address hard-to-meet local social studies requirements, like state history, Holocaust Studies, media literacy, and more (available for select states).

Changes to our free product

We recently announced that on June 30, we will retire the current free version of our product and replace it with Newsela Lite, a new freemium experience of Newsela ELA, Newsela Social Studies, and Newsela Science.
